The Flight Sciences division is responsible for the development and certification of Gulfstream Flight Control Laws and Automated Guidance Systems—complex, safety-critical systems that require rigorous validation and verification to ensure performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
We are seeking a Control Law Systems Engineer focused on Validation & Verification (V&V) to join our Flight Dynamics team in Savannah, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring control law system requirements are correct, complete, and properly verified in accordance with SAE ARP4754A processes.
You will work across a highly cross-functional environment, partnering with Systems Engineering, Flight Controls, Software, Test, Flight Operations, and external stakeholders to validate requirements, define verification strategies, and support certification activities, including FAA audits.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Author, review, and validate control law system-level requirements in IBM DOORS
Ensure complete requirements traceability (aircraft → system → software)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are clear, testable, and technically accurate
Develop and execute verification strategies using multiple methods:
Test bench (flight control computer / unit-level testing)
Linear and nonlinear analysis
Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and integrated “ironbird” testing
Design and execute test procedures and verification cases
Participate in system integration, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
Identify gaps in requirements, test cases, or procedures and drive corrective actions
Generate verification reports, analysis reports, and certification artifacts
Support FAA certification activities and System Design Reviews (SDR), including:
Audit preparation and execution
Demonstrating compliance to ARP4754A processes
Disposition of verification or process deviations
Contribute to continuous improvement of V&V processes, tools, and methodologies
