The Ocean Tender Management role is responsible for coordinating and managing customer ocean freight tenders from intake through submission. This role ensures all tender requirements are reviewed, pricing inputs are collected, deadlines are managed, and final responses are complete, competitive, and aligned with business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ocean tender intake, review, and coordination across internal stakeholders.
- Analyze tender requirements, including trade lanes, volumes, equipment types, free time, validity, service requirements, and special conditions.
- Coordinate with Product, Pricing, Sales, Operations, and regional teams to gather required inputs.
- Track tender timelines, milestones, missing information, and submission deadlines.
- Ensure pricing requests are clearly communicated to Product and carrier procurement teams.
- Consolidate pricing, terms, assumptions, and exceptions for final tender submission.
- Support bid strategy by identifying competitive lanes, risk areas, and margin opportunities.
- Maintain tender trackers, bid files, customer templates, and supporting documentation.
- Review final submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with customer instructions.
- Support post-award implementation by communicating awarded lanes, pricing validity, SOP requirements, and allocation needs.
Qualifications
- Experience in ocean freight forwarding, tender management, pricing, procurement, or sales support.
- Strong understanding of ocean freight terminology, trade lanes, rate structures, and carrier processes.
- Excellent organization and deadline management skills.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large bid files.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and regions.
- Experience with RFQ platforms, CargoWise, Freightos/WebCargo, or other logistics systems preferred.
