Job Summary
The Technical Recruiter is responsible for attracting qualified candidates and matching them to the open positions for which they are best suited. This role reports to the Recruiting Manager and supports the daily recruiting operations of STS Technical Services.
Desired Characteristics
You will need to be confident and direct, someone who can hold their own in conversations with candidates and speak their language when it comes to industry terms. Clear communication matters here, both on the phone and in writing, so being able to get your point across without confusion is key.
This is a people-facing role, so you should genuinely enjoy connecting with others, from entry-level candidates to seasoned professionals, while bringing an approachable and upbeat energy to those interactions. At the same time, there is a competitive edge to the team, so you should be self-driven and motivated by that kind of environment.
The pace can pick up, and when it does, flexibility is important. That might mean putting in extra hours or jumping in on a weekend when needed. Staying adaptable, patient and level-headed will go a long way.
Above all, success in this role comes down to persistence and resourcefulness. You will need to dig, follow through and stay determined to find the right people. Previous experience placing mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as designers, developers and testing professionals, is essential.
