What You Will Do
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January- May/June (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
As a Mechanical Design Engineering Co-op at Collins Aerospace, you will assist throughout the entire lifecycle of aerospace components, from conceptual design through to certification and ongoing product support. Your expertise will be pivotal in crafting advanced solutions for:
Water heaters and freeze protection systems
High-performance water tanks and heated tubes
Precision-engineered valves, faucets, and drain masts
Pneumatic valves and de-icers for ice protection
Elastomers and heated composites tailored for aerospace applications
Qualifications You Must Have
Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with CAD software, simulation tools, and/or composites
Experience with the design and development of aerospace systems, particularly Potable Water and Ice Protection systems
Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to innovation
