The Simulator Technician I performs routine technical activities in a simulator, laboratory, field, or operational environment while developing proficiency in simulator maintenance and support activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Perform routine technical tasks on-site, in the field, or in a laboratory environment.
Participate in training related to laboratory, office, plant, and field-based technical work.
Perform preventive maintenance activities on simulators and associated systems.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues affecting simulators and related systems.
Utilize maintenance management systems to document and track maintenance activities.
Complete all required training activities.
Conduct pre-flight and post-flight simulator activities on designated devices.
Perform basic visual alignments.
Execute automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) testing.
Support simulator refurbishment activities and hardware modifications.
Comply with CAE's Quality Management System requirements and procedures.
Provide timely customer support and respond to customer needs.
Perform housekeeping and maintenance-related activities to support simulator readiness.
Support logistics activities, including receipt of parts, repair coordination, testing, and validation tasks.
Complete administrative activities as required.
Support the Technical Services team with additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree (2-year technical diploma) in Electronics, Avionics, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent technical training and experience.
0-2 years of relevant technical experience.
Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to changing operational requirements.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
