About the role
Rishworth Aviation is recruiting on behalf of a leading aeromedical and rescue helicopter operator for an experienced B1.3 LAME (AW 169) in New Zealand, this role supports a fleet delivering critical emergency air ambulance, rescue, and medical transport services. You will be part of a high‑performing engineering team ensuring aircraft remain safe, compliant, and mission‑ready 24/7.
Job Responsibilities
Perform B1.3 maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on helicopter structures, engines, and mechanical systems.
Carry out scheduled inspections, servicing, and airworthiness checks.
Diagnose faults and complete component repairs or replacements.
Test aircraft systems to confirm operational performance and safety.
Maintain accurate technical records, including logbooks, work packs, and maintenance documentation.
Ensure all engineering activities meet regulatory, organisational, and industry standards.
Support duplicate inspections, FOD checks, and quality assurance processes.
Maintain aircraft readiness to support rescue and aeromedical operations.
Collaborate effectively with engineering, flight, and operational teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold a strong safety culture.
AW169 experience and type familiarity are highly advantageous.
Essential
Current NZCAA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (B1.3) or ability to obtain and exercise licence privileges in New Zealand.
Strong knowledge of helicopter mechanical, electronic, and/or structural systems.
Understanding of aircraft maintenance requirements and approved repair procedures.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret technical documentation.
High attention to detail, strong organisation, and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Proven commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
Desirable
AW169 type rating or Leonardo Helicopters experience.
Previous EMS, rescue helicopter, or special‑mission aviation experience.
Experience in a Part 145 maintenance environment.
