About the role
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our Local Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting accounting activities in compliance with Polish accounting and tax regulations. Tasks
Perform accounting activities in accordance with Polish accounting and tax regulations
Participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare, review and reconcile VAT returns and related documentation
Prepare statutory reports and filings required by the Central Statistical Office (GUS)
Reconcile general ledger accounts and analyze accounting transactions
Cooperate with auditors, tax advisors and internal stakeholders
Support internal controls and compliance activities
Participate in process improvement and optimization initiatives
Team cooperation
*Perform all other duties assigned or delegated by supervisors
Requirements
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting
Practical knowledge of Polish Accounting Act and current tax regulations, particularly VAT and CIT
Experience in preparing and filing VAT returns
Experience in preparing reports for the Central Statistical Office (GUS)
Good understanding of month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP Business One would be an advantage)
Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel
Good command of English, enabling effective communication in an international business environment
