The role
Manchester Airport Group is looking for a skilled Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the UK's largest and most complex airport environments, supporting the critical communications infrastructure that keeps our airports, partners, tenants and airlines connected.
You'll be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance and fault resolution of fibre optic and copper cabling systems across Manchester Airport's extensive communications network. Working on both planned project delivery and operational support activities, you'll play a key role in ensuring our infrastructure remains reliable, scalable and ready to support future growth.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a large-scale estate that includes approximately 300 communications rooms, 10,000km of optical fibre, 40,000km of copper cabling and more than 30,000 structured wiring outlets.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Planning, installing, terminating and testing structured copper cabling and associated containment systems including trunking, cable tray and conduit.
Installing, terminating and testing single-mode and multi-mode fibre optic cabling, including ducting, containment and patching requirements.
Completing installation, testing and fault-finding activities on voice multi-core cabling systems.
