We are looking for first officers who have a passion for aviation, a commitment to getting it Right First Time, and a strong Can-Do Spirit, who would like to join our B767 “holding pool” whilst awaiting future employment, in the near to medium-term. ROLE PURPOSE

• To act as first officer on DHL international aircraft. To operate safely and efficiently in accordance with all company and regulatory rules and procedures.
• The first officer is directly responsible to the commander for assisting in the safe and efficient conduct of the flight. He/she will carry out all duties assigned to him/her by the commander in accordance with company procedures and is qualified to act as PIC for the purpose of taking over control should the person acting as a PIC become incapacitated.
• In addition to the applicable general responsibilities as a flight crew member the first officer will take all reasonable steps to assist the commander in performing administrative duties in relation to the flight.

Safety

• The first officer is responsible for assisting the captain to ensure the safe and efficient conduct of the flight. He shall ensure that the aircraft to which he/she is assigned is airworthy, properly and adequately serviced and that the loading is proper and secure. He/she shall make himself/herself familiar with the route and terminal areas to be used and ensure the weather and terminal reports indicate the flight can be made safely.
• Carry out such duties concerning the flight, in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations and performance relating to the specific aircraft Type, as are allocated to him/her by the commander.
• Confirm the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the aircraft and its safe terrain clearance.
• Volunteer advice, information and assistance to the commander, that will contribute to the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
• Seek and receive information and/or explanation from the commander, as may be necessary to enable the first officer to fulfill his/her function.

Standards

· He/she is responsible for assisting the captain in the operation of the aircraft to achieve the highest possible standards of safety and proficiency at all times.

Regulatory

· Ensure compliance with BCAA regulations and all company policies and procedures as specified in the company flight operations manual, standard operating procedures manual and aircraft flight manual.

• When pilot-in-command during the Commander’s absence from the flight deck, take any action that considers necessary under the circumstances in an emergency situation that requires immediate decision and action. In such cases, first officer may deviate from rules, operational procedures and methods in the interest of safety.

Advisory

• Advise Management regarding any safety issues that affect or have the potential to affect operation of company aircraft.
• Assist the Captain to advise the Maintenance Department regarding the serviceability of the aircraft and bring to his attention any item that may have the potential to affect the normal operation of that aircraft.
• Advise Flight Dispatch /Management anytime that physical impairment of the pilot may affect the normal operation of the aircraft
• Advise Management, the appropriate Airport Authority and Regulatory Authorities regarding any incident, accident and other reportable occurrences as described in the company Flight Operations Manual

Procedural

• Operate in accordance with the company flight operations manual, aircraft standard operating procedures manual and aircraft flight manual. Comply with air traffic control rules, procedures and instructions. Ensure that any passengers are briefed on the location and use of emergency exits and relevant safety and emergency equipment

Other Responsibilities

• To maintain a sound knowledge and understanding of the applicable civil aviation regulations, aircraft systems, standard operating procedures and carriage of dangerous goods.
• To assist and support the commander in all decision-making processes.
• To foster solid working relationships with the crew on every flight in a dynamic environment where the first officer could be flying with a different crew member on any given day of a week.

• To work in a team in achieving the highest level of on-time performance.

YOUR PROFILE

• ICAO CPL/IR with ATPL theoretical knowledge credit.
• Valid unrestricted Class 1 Medical Certificate (corrective lenses acceptable).
• Minimum 1,500 hours Total Flight Time.
• Minimum 500 hours on: Jet aircraft with a MTOM greater than 10 tons; or Turboprop aircraft with a MTOM greater than 18 tons.
• Strong communication skills.
• All components of CRM should be fully understood and continually practiced.
• Preference will be given to B767/757 type rated candidates, and those with prior jet experience.

• Current and previous operators.
• Current and previous aircraft types flown.
• Hours on current and previous aircraft types.
• Date of last flight.
• Date of last flight on B757/B767 (if applicable).
• English Language Proficiency (ELP) Certificate, if not endorsed on the licence.
