About the role
Job Description Summary
Intergalactic now a part of Unison, a GE Aerospace Company, is a team of engineers, technologists, designers, mathematicians, and problem solvers committed to a singular idea: reviving the no-boundaries mentality in aerospace. We are a team of the nation’s best, regardless of where we live.
The Electrical Systems Engineer will serve as a technical leader for high‑reliability digital power conversion and electric drive systems, spanning architecture, detailed design, verification, and validation of Thermal Management Systems. This role focuses on developing and qualifying TMS control systems, advanced DC/DC conversion hardware and controls for aerospace applications, including high‑voltage power conversion, motor drive systems, and associated protection, monitoring, and control circuitry. The systems engineer will drive cross‑functional integration across systems, hardware, test, and manufacturing teams, ensuring safe, robust, and compliant solutions that meet customer requirements for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
While providing Thermal Management Systems requirements support, collaborating with mechanical and systems engineering teams to ensure integrated electrical and thermal solutions for high‑reliability aerospace hardware is a paramount function to this position. Roles and Responsibilities
Own system‑level requirements flow‑down for digital power conversion hardware, decomposing customer and system requirements into clear, testable hardware and firmware requirements, and ensuring traceability throughout the design lifecycle.
Document and communicate design decisions, analyses, and test outcomes through formal reports and technical reviews, ensuring traceability and a strong customer‑driven focus.
Lead architecture and detailed design of digital power conversion, including DC/DC stages, gate drives, protection circuits, sensing chains, and control electronics, with emphasis on high‑voltage and high‑power aerospace applications.
Plan and execute verification and validation of digital power conversion hardware and systems, including procedure authorship, lab setup, and execution of environmental, functional, and performance…
