The Intelligence Systems (IS) program within Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) / Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Herndon, VA. IS delivers complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. This role offers the opportunity to lead Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) efforts across diverse, mission-critical programs.
Role Overview:
As a Systems Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 15 Systems Engineers at various career stages, including senior Subject Matter Experts. You will provide technical leadership while supporting engineering execution across multiple disciplines, driving innovative, agile teams through the full product lifecycle. This role combines people management with hands-on technical oversight and collaboration with program managers and stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities
Lead develop and motivate a SEIT team to meet program and business objectives
Collaborate with capability leads and program managers to address staffing and skill needs
Support recruiting talent development and retention efforts
Provide technical oversight for system architecture design artifacts and engineering deliverables
Maintain strong relationships with customers stakeholders partners and internal teams
Contribute to proposal development and business growth initiatives
Participate in skills management and ensure continuous workforce development
Support the identification and implementation of best practices and process improvements
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
This position requires an Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance with an active Full Scope Polygraph (U.S. Citizenship Required) (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
