This role can be based anywhere in the UK, with regular travel to Bristol and other Babcock sites, including Rosyth, Walsall, Andover and Donnington, as well as supplier locations when required.
The role
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting business growth by developing sourcing strategies and supplier solutions for major bids, projects, and programmes across the organisation.
Working within our procurement function, you'll help identify and engage capable suppliers, lead sourcing activities, manage commercial risk, and deliver value-driven solutions that support future contract wins and successful programme delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategic business decisions while developing your procurement and supply chain expertise within a global organisation.
Day-to-day, you will be:
Developing sourcing and supply chain strategies that support new business opportunities and bid activity.
Leading supplier selection, tendering, negotiations, and contract implementation activities.
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to drive performance, value, and risk management.
Conducting supplier due diligence and ensuring compliance with company, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborating with procurement, commercial, engineering, and project teams to deliver effective supply chain solutions.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week. Hybrid working patterns are available, with office attendance required as business needs dictate.
