What You Will Do

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).​

As a Test Equipment Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Collins Aerospace, you will:

• Document fluid schematics and specifications to construct, relocate, and install test stands, test equipment, and facilities infrastructure.
• Contribute to teams designing mechanical test equipment, components, and systems for MPC (Mechanical Power Conversion) power generation, transmission, and distribution products.
• Participate in peer reviews of specifications, designs, and concepts for test equipment, components, and systems.
• Track orders, costs, and due dates to update budgets and spending profiles.
• Conduct/Coordinate/Participate in Project Status reviews with team and other stakeholders
• Work independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team ensuring work is completed on-time, within quality standards, per specifications and contracts, and within budget constraints.
• Support test equipment estimation activities including test stand/equipment costs and schedules.
• Development and documentation of performance, design, calibration, and maintenance requirements for test stands.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

• Must have a minimum of 45 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience or coursework in mechanical engineering concepts
• Data acquisition and control hardware and software
• Mechanical rotating equipment (motors, gearboxes, or equivalent)
• Experience with hydraulic and fluid circuits
• Use of drafting tools such as AutoCAD, NX, or equivalent

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
