Job Summary:

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Senior Operations Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of our Operations Quality Team within the Microelectronics/Radio Frequency (RF) Technologies organization. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.

This position is a 2nd shift schedule and will include an 8% shift differential for working the following schedule starting at 2:00pm EST to 11:00am EST.

What you will do

• Baseline factory metrics (Scrap, Rework, First Pass Yield, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
• Engage cross-functional manufacturing Defect Prevention Team (DPT) to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation.
• Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation and Cost of Poor Quality.
• Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand.
• Identify production and/or supplier escapes, ensure proper containment and communication to MFG, Program and Supplier Quality teams as required to ensure RCCA
• Perform verification and validation of improvements to understand effectiveness.

Qualifications you must have

• Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and five (5) years of Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related industry experience
• Manufacturing process experience in one of the following: (assembly, fabrication, inspection, test)
• Previous experience working in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement teams
• Previous experience handling and reviewing/inspecting production hardware
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint), capable of analyzing and manipulating raw data to generate graphs, charts and/or Pivot tables that effectively communicate production health to relevant stakeholders
• Experience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions
• Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer

• Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.
• Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
• Strong familiarity with MIL-STD-883 requirements and microelectronics manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing (crystal resonators, oscillators, integrated circuits, waferfab, die attach processes, wire bonding, ribbon bonding, automated test equipment)
• Familiarity with J-STD-001 requirements and solder/electronics manufacturing
• Experience working in an ISO-14644 cleanroom environment.
• Experience with inspection under a microscope or reviewing products under high magnification
• Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP, exposure to variance analysis (ANOVA)
• Experience with industry technical standards, interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool controls
• Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications
• Proficient in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping
• Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
• Existing US DoD Secret (or higher) clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
