Joining Team Norse is more than getting a job. It is all about belonging.

Always dreamt of doing things differently? Join us in Comtech at Norse Atlantic Airways, where we build the digital products behind a challenger airline.

We think differently and we act differently. We are not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom and test new ideas. We are a data-driven, product-first organization powered by a small, tight-knit team of developers, product managers and data scientists — plus a few potatoes*.

If these prospects inspire you, then we want to talk to you!

*Potatoes: a Norwegian term for people who can do a little bit of everything.

Why This Role is Exciting

Our Flutter app is at the heart of Norse's digital experience, and we're looking for someone to take real ownership of it. You'll be the driving force behind the mobile app while working shoulder-to-shoulder with a small engineering team — which means your day won't stop at the app. In a lean team, the best people wear more than one hat, so you'll also jump in to support the wider stack: our GraphQL layer, our .NET / C# backend services, and the integrations that hold it all together. Your heart is in app development, but your reach goes across the whole product.

This role sits within Comtech and reports to the Head of Ecom and Product.
Responsibilities and Duties

Flutter App Development (your main focus)

  • Own the design, development and maintenance of our cross-platform mobile app in Flutter and Dart, delivering a high-performing, scalable and user-friendly experience on both iOS and Android.

  • Drive the app's architecture and set best practices for state management, testing and release, keeping the codebase clean and maintainable.

  • Partner with UX/UI designers to build intuitive, engaging interfaces, and iterate based on user testing and experimentation.

  • Optimize app performance — load times, responsiveness and stability — across a wide range of devices.

Backend & Fullstack Support

  • Roll up your sleeves alongside the rest of the team to support our general stack, contributing to backend services built with .NET Core and C#.

  • Design, consume and extend GraphQL APIs that connect the app and web front-ends to our backend systems.

  • Help design robust, secure and reliable integrations, ensuring smooth communication between the app, the backend and third-party services.

  • Support and unblock fellow engineers across the stack — reviewing code, pairing and stepping in wherever the team needs an extra pair of hands.

Architecture & Collaboration

  • Take ownership of end-to-end delivery, from architecture through to deployment, following clean architecture principles.

  • Work within Agile Scrum, participating in sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives with product managers, designers and fellow engineers.

  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team to ship a best-in-class product, fast.

Code Review, Mentorship & Innovation

  • Conduct thorough code reviews and champion high coding standards across the app and the wider stack.

  • Mentor and support other developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing and implementing ideas that push our products forward.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on mobile development in Flutter and Dart.

  • Proven experience shipping and maintaining production mobile apps on iOS and Android.

  • Solid backend experience with .NET Core and C#, and comfort working across a fullstack codebase.

  • Hands-on experience with GraphQL (designing, consuming or extending APIs).

  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.

  • A passion for clean, maintainable and scalable code, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Experience working in Agile teams, and a startup mindset that thrives in a small, high-ownership team.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (desired but not required).

AI-Assisted Development

  • Proficient with AI-assisted and agentic software development tools such as Claude Code — or able to become proficient very quickly — using them effectively for coding, codebase exploration, refactoring, debugging, testing, code review and engineering automation.

  • Comfortable designing workflows where AI agents can safely perform or accelerate repetitive engineering tasks, while applying appropriate review and engineering judgment.

  • Actively explores new AI-assisted development practices and helps establish effective patterns for using them across the team.
