Job Title: Safety Analyst - Maintenance
Department: Safety
Reports To: Director of Safety
POSITION PURPOSE
The Safety Analyst - Maintenance supports the daily management, administration, security and operation of the Safety Department maintenance operations though, tracking, investigation and mitigation development of maintenance operations safety events. In addition, the Safety Analyst - Maintenance supports the SMS through computer systems management and integration, and conducts analytical projects assigned by the SMS Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with the development, implementation, and daily administration of the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Responsible for processing, assigning and investigation of incident reports relating to maintenance operations.
- Implements risk-based analyses and accident prevention framework to drive continuous safety improvements.
- Responsible for preparing trending analysis reports and charts.
- Provide technical support in the use and development of Reliance for all participating departments.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and statistical data required to keep the SMS groups and the administrator informed of the status of the programs
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Ability to operate independently with little daily supervision.
- Thorough understanding of Federal OSHA/ State OSHA/ Airport safety regulations (desired).
- Experience in airline or military operations (desired).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written directions to assigned staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Work experience, preferably in 14CFR Part 121 maintenance operations; training, quality control, line maintenance, maintenance safety - or a combination thereof.
- Basic computer programming and statistical methods experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including database and spreadsheet programs.
- Proven project management and analytical skills.
- Previous experience maintaining and enhancing corporate safety standards and safe operation practices preferreD.
- Proficient verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.Strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a positive attitude toward teamwork.
- Willingness to assist Managers, Directors and staff with the highest level of professionalism.
- Ability to handle numerous projects at one time and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in support of Reliance and the SMS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and the utilization of stairs. Wearing PPE (Safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) will be required, must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
