This role is pivotal in aligning the team’s efforts with organizational objectives while ensuring they have the tools and resources needed for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to the Sales Manager, Assistant Sales Manager, and Inside Sales Staff.
- Set clear objectives and monitor team performance against KPIs.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
- Strategic Oversight:
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with corporate goals.
- Monitor market trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Provide insights and feedback to upper management for strategic planning.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all operational workflows.
- Conduct regular audits of booking, quoting, and customer service activities.
- Resolve high-level customer or operational escalations.
- Equipment Oversight:
- Ensure all staff have the necessary hardware (e.g., laptops, monitors, cell phones) and software tools.
- Coordinate with IT for procurement, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain an inventory of equipment and ensure compliance with company policies regarding usage.
- Cross-Divisional Collaboration:
- Act as the primary liaison between the regional team and other departments (e.g., Route Management, IT, Accounting, Operations, HR).
- Work closely with the Sales Manager to address performance gaps and operational challenges.
- Performance Reporting:
- Compile monthly performance reports highlighting sales, customer service metrics, and operational efficiency.
- Present recommendations to optimize team output and customer satisfaction.
- What success looks like in the role:
- Team KPI achievement rates.
- Market growth within Area 1.
- Efficiency in resolving escalations.
- Uptime and functionality of staff equipment
Essential Requirements for the Position
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Aviation, Logistics, or a related field is an advantage.Minimum 5 years of leadership
- Experience in sales, commercial operations, air cargo, airline operations, or a related industry.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of sales management principles, customer relationship management, and operational processes.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
- Experience developing and implementing sales strategies and performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience managing customer escalations and complex operational challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with CRM and cargo management systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position
- The position is based in Houston, Texas.
- Occasional travel may be required within the assigned territory and for company meetings or business development activities.
- The position requires flexibility to support business needs across multiple locations and time zones.
- Regular office presence is expected, with availability to address operational or customer matters as required.
- The position holder must remain accessible through appropriate communication channels during business travel and critical operational situations.
