HAECO Component Overhaul is an independent MRO offering offering a wide range of repair and overhaul solutions for aircraft components from purpose-built facilities in Hong Kong and Xiamen, our workshops also facilitate the closed-loop repair of components.

Position Description

The incumbent is responsible for leading the overall workshop production operations within HAECO Component Overhaul (CRO) Hong Kong. The role drives the introduction and industrialization of new repair capabilities, including Engine Component product lines, from facility and workflow design through to production readiness and routine operations. The incumbent ensures maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory requirements, approved technical data, and company procedures, while meeting customer commitments and business objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Capability Development
    • Support the introduction of Engine Component repair capabilities, including facility layout design, workflow development, industrialization planning, production readiness and implementation of maintenance processes
    • Coordinate with Operations Support teams to transition new capabilities from development phase into routine production operation
    • Support equipment qualification, tooling deployment, process validation and operator readiness activities
    • Participate in business growth initiatives and capability expansion projects
  • Resource management
    • Manage production resources, including workforce, facilities, tooling, equipment, materials and technical documentation
    • Ensure availability and readiness of production resources to support workshop workload demand
    • Work closely with Operations Support teams to minimize production interruptions caused by material shortages or capacity limitations
    • Optimize resource utilization and labor productivity
  • Regulatory Compliance and Quality
    • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with EASA Part-145, FAA & applicable authorities’ requirements, approved maintenance data and company procedures
    • Maintain production compliance with applicable MOE requirements, safety management systems and quality standards
    • Support audits, customer visits, authority inspections and regulatory assessments
    • Lead timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions arising from audit findings, incidents or quality investigations
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Technical Services, Planning, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Commercial and Finance teams to support program objectives and business targets
    • Participate in operational reviews and strategic planning activities
    • Support customer communication relating to production status, operational risks and recovery plans
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop productivity, quality, turnaround time, cost efficiency and operational performance
    • Promote Lean, problem-solving and root cause investigation methodologies
    • Establish performance metrics and monitor achievement of operational targets
    • Lead operational excellence projects and best-practice implementation
  • People Leadership
    • Lead, coach and develop production supervisors, certifying staff and workshop personnel
    • Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, compliance, accountability and teamwork
    • Support succession planning, competency development and workforce engagement initiatives

1. Technical and other Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant aviation MRO experience, with at least 3 years in a production leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of component maintenance, repair and overhaul operations
  • Experience in workshop management, resource planning and production control
  • Practical experience supporting capability development, industrialization or operational readiness projects
  • Sound understanding of EASA Part-145 and FAA maintenance requirements
  • Experience dealing with regulatory authorities, OEMs and customers
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence initiatives is an advantage

2. Qualifications and other Relevant Knowledge

  • A recognized degree in Aeronautical, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of component MRO operations and production management
  • Good understanding of aviation safety and quality system
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written
  • Proficient in ERP/MRO production management systems and Microsoft Office applications
