MRO Purchaser
Base Maintenance is an essential part of SAS Technical Operations, ensuring that airworthy aircraft are delivered to Operations safely, efficiently, and on time.
As an MRO Purchaser, you are responsible for material needs at MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) bases and perform all duties related to the material organization, from need creation in AMOS, receiving of materials, usage, and stock inventory. The role requires a broad understanding of the business, SAS processes, and maintenance operations.
This is a temporary 6-month assignment offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic aviation environment and contribute to the continued success of SAS Technical Operations.
Purpose
Ensuring a high material availability at MRO bases where heavy maintenance is performed, at the lowest possible total cost, in order to meet the airline's needs in accordance with current regulations and processes.
Challenges you will work on:
As an MRO Purchaser, you will play a key role in ensuring material availability for heavy maintenance activities across SAS MRO bases. Working closely with Engineering, Planning, Technical Representatives, MRO providers, suppliers, and logistics partners, you will proactively plan and secure material requirements to support maintenance activities while balancing operational needs, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
You will be responsible for managing the full purchasing lifecycle, from identifying material requirements and generating purchase orders to securing delivery, monitoring order status, resolving claims, and managing invoice accuracy within AMOS. A critical part of the role is ensuring that relevant information is continuously updated and shared across stakeholders to support efficient decision-making and a consistent material flow.
The role also includes acting as the primary point of contact for material-related matters at MRO bases. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to secure the most effective sourcing, transport, and stock allocation solutions, ensuring that material is available when and where it is needed.
In addition, you will support material receiving activities in accordance with SAS Part-145 requirements, perform delegated CAMO duties, and manage SAS-owned stock located at MRO providers. You will contribute to the opening and closing of MRO bases, aircraft phase-in and phase-out activities, aircraft modification programs, and critical material situations where operational focus and coordination are required.
Continuous improvement is an important part of the role. You will actively contribute to enhancing processes, supporting improvement initiatives, participating in Safety reviews, and driving improvements related to purchasing, inventory management, material flow, and operational efficiency.
