Job Schedule: 4/10 - Employees work 10 hour days, 4 days a week

Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician C (Instrumentation) to join our team at Stennis Space Center, MS.

In this role, you will work alongside technicians, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to support the assembly, testing, and delivery of electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including cables and harnesses associated with large rocket engines. You will be responsible for performing a variety of manufacturing assembly and test operations, supporting setup and calibration activities, and performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You will also use specialized software programs to collect and evaluate operating data and support adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. In addition, you will help develop methods and procedures to control and improve the manufacturing process.

Essential Functions

• Ability to read and interpret wire tables, wire routing documentation, wire diagrams, blueprints, schematics, color codes, and technical work instructions.
• Experience using both powered and manual cable-building tools.
• Ability to use pinning and stripping tools and make all types of connections.
• Ability to identify breakout positions, sleeve types, and braid requirements.
• Ability to solder to terminals, connectors, and braid.
• Familiarity with and ability to conduct continuity and resistance (C&R) testing.
• Works autonomously and serves as a mentor to lower-level peers, providing guidance on assigned tasks.
• Makes recommendations for new processes and procedures.
• Works on complex assignments requiring the development of concepts and techniques.
• Follows established processes to complete tasks while identifying problems and issues.
• Works to achieve operational targets within the job area that have significant impact on team results.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or
• 2 years of post-secondary education/associate degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

• Strong ability to read, interpret, and understand written documents, drawings, procedures, specifications, and requirements needed to perform assigned tasks.
• Proven ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Strong electrical and mechanical assembly knowledge.
• Strong understanding of electrical testing equipment and methods, including DMM, Hipot, oscilloscope, and megger.
• Ability to handle precision-clean parts.
• Knowledge of contamination control processes and techniques, including clean rooms, FOE/FOD, and related requirements.
• Familiarity with 5S+1 and lean manufacturing procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and others contacted in the course of work
