Manager Shifts Training - SGU

Training Shift Managers are expected to provide active support for new hires during onboarding and training. Provide a welcoming environment for questions and clarification. Provide timely directions to ensure new hires receive accurate answers, resources, and information regarding deadlines.

• Help with interviews and the hiring process
• Ensure new hires are fully trained and have a mentor scheduled
• Oversee training with DL/UA/AS/AA
  • Deicing program and training
  • Oversee search and recurrent training
  • AS/AA CSA ramp and/or customer service training
  • DL/UA/AA/AS instructor-qualified scanners, LAV, potable water, and GEM checks
  • DL/AS/UA/AA customer service training and OJT
• Conduct new hire evaluations at 90 days and 6 months
• Email all training deadlines within the 24-day policy
• Coach and assist with training new hires and new training assignments
• Update the station training plan monthly
• Ensure compliance with all governing rules and regulations regarding safety and security in the airline industry
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Provide clear direction, guidance, and support for all operational areas and departments
• Audit monthly reports for training compliance

• Alaska audits
• Audit training records
• Issue corrective action for training items in accordance with policy

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver’s license
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Have previous airline experience in supervisory or manager capacity
• Be in good standing with the company
• In-depth understanding of partner brands and seamless products
• In-depth understanding of SkyWest company and station policies
• In-depth understanding of SkyWest manuals
• In-depth understanding of SkyWest performance expectations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic understanding of all ramp functions
• Basic understanding of partner booking applications
• Basic understanding of manpower budgeting and scheduling
• Positive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented mindset
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with frontline employees and management

• Thorough understanding of ticketing, gate, and ramp procedures.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of SkyWest Airlines’ policies and procedures
• Proficiency with partner dedicated computer systems
• Lift, carry, stack, load, and offload baggage and freight weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
• Turn, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, climb, lift and reach overhead as required to clean aircraft and the ramp, marshal and stabilize aircraft, and load and unload baggage onto aircraft and inside of cargo pit
• Push/pull mobile bridge adapter, loading bridges, and baggage carts
• Work outside in all temperatures and weather conditions
• Stand, walk and sit for extended periods
• Drive company property while working on the ramp
• Adequate vision and hearing
• This is a full-time position
• $14.50 per hour, plus override

• This is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
