Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Manager Quality 1 to support Quality & Mission Assurance (QMA) for the CBP P‑3 program in Jacksonville, FL. The CBP P‑3 fleet supports long‑range surveillance and interdiction missions in support of homeland security and border protection. This role provides the opportunity to lead quality performance on a high‑visibility, mission‑critical program.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of QMA professionals, including performance management, coaching, and development.
• Ensure conformance to all quality‑related customer and contract requirements for the CBP P‑3 program.
• Drive quality into products, services, and solutions across the full program lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), including applicable business processes and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
• Work cross‑functionally with Program Management, Engineering, Operations, and Supplier Quality to identify and implement process improvements.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean/Six Sigma and data‑driven methods to reduce defects, rework, and variation.
• Participate in program planning and schedule reviews to identify and mitigate key quality and mission assurance risks.
• Report quality and process metrics; prepare and deliver quality‑related status and presentations to next level management.
• Review and disposition Corrective Action Requests (CARs/iCARs/SCARs) and participate in corrective action review boards.
• Participate in program technical reviews and review associated technical documentation from a quality perspective.
• Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Mission Assurance to align expectations and harmonize activities across the supply base.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 9+ years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance;
  – OR a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience;
  – OR a Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
• FAA A&P license with FAA IA (Inspection Authorization).
• Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100 or equivalent).
• Experience working with certified Quality Management Systems and associated requirements.
• Demonstrated understanding and application of statistical methods and data analytics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation.
• Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
• Strong knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing teams in Quality Engineering, Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, or equivalent.
• ASQ certifications (e.g., CMQ/OE, CQE).
• Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification.
• Direct AS9100 experience.
• Prior P‑3 or similar large multi engine turboprop military/para‑military aviation maintenance/modification experience
• Understanding of the application of the FAA AC 43.13

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
