Innovation is in our DNA… is it in yours?
Bombardier is a global leader in aviation, creating innovative and game-changing planes. Our products and services provide world-class experiences that set new standards in passenger comfort, energy efficiency, reliability and safety. We are a global organization focused on working together with a team spirit.

Your boarding pass will include…

Several conferences, including:

  • Meet An Executive
  • Women Taking Flight

Learning more about Bombardier, including:

  • Bombardier Products conference
  • Visits of the Bombardier sites
  • Bombardier Academy of Learning

Many social/networking opportunities, including:

  • Volunteering
  • Networking for Success
  • 5 à 7, Potluck, and much more!

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Learn how aircraft-level requirements are created by supporting the authoring and refinement of Design Requirements and Objectives (DR&O) and Aircraft Requirements Document (ARD) requirements for a new aircraft.
  • Work with experienced engineers to review requirements and help make them clear, complete, consistent, feasible, verifiable, and traceable.
  • Take part in technical reviews and requirements-validation activities, while learning how engineering assumptions, decisions, questions, and open issues are documented and resolved.
  • Receive hands-on exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) by helping develop aircraft architecture models covering system context, functions, logical architecture, interfaces, and key functional exchanges.
  • Help connect requirements, architecture models, interfaces, analyses, and design decisions so that the engineering story remains aligned and traceable.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary functional teams and discover how aircraft systems come together as part of an integrated design.
  • Prepare clear technical material for architecture reviews and working sessions, participate in discussions, and follow actions through completion.
  • Bring a fresh perspective and contribute ideas to improve systems engineering methods, modelling conventions, templates, and ways of working.

How to thrive in this role?

  • You are pursuing studies in systems, aerospace, mechanical, electrical, software, or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • You are curious about how an aircraft works as a complete system and eager to understand how requirements, functions, interfaces, and design decisions fit together.
  • You enjoy organizing information, asking thoughtful questions, and turning complex ideas into clear requirements, models, diagrams, or presentations.
  • You are comfortable learning new concepts and tools with guidance from experienced team members; prior aircraft architecture experience is not expected.
  • You bring attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and the initiative to follow up on questions and actions.
  • You can communicate clearly and enjoy working with people from different engineering disciplines.
  • You are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a new aircraft while building practical experience in systems engineering, requirements development, and MBSE.
  • Coursework, a student project, or personal interest related to systems engineering, aircraft systems, requirements, modelling, or product development is helpful.
  • Assets—not requirements:
    • Awareness of MBSE, SysML, or a systems modelling tool.
    • Exposure to a requirements-management tools
    • Basic familiarity with verification, validation, or requirements traceability.
    • Interest in aircraft development, certification, or multidisciplinary design integration.

Boarding Information:

  • Location: BAN
  • Duration: 8 months
  • Flexible workplace-Hybrid

It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
