Role Introduction

Reports to: Assistant Manager, Distribution Commercial Partnership
As the Distribution Commercial Partnership Specialist, you will ensure an integrated and consistent approach for the transition from legacy to modernised distribution, including the rollout, adoption and cost analysis of related technologies.
You will understand business requirements of key partners using modern distribution
technologies, and focus on the customers’ success to ensure that key partners are supported throughout their migration from both a commercial and technical perspective. You will also support the onboarding by designing and building an efficient process to be adopted for global markets roll-out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our partners in their migration to adopting modernised distribution technologies
  • Support the regions to deliver both commercial and technical support for key partners
  • Evaluate impact on costs and implement adequate monitoring of the associated initiatives
  • Work closely with the Information Technology (IT) teams to ensure that our partners’ needs can be handled by the Cathay IT architecture
  • Understand requirements of developers, aggregators, agents and Global Distribution Systems (GDS) connections to work with Distribution technology enhancement team and other relevant internal teams on Cathay’s future modernized distribution blueprint
  • Participate in various projects in Distribution Strategy areas if required
  • Perform distribution cost audit and monitoring

Requirements

  • University graduate in business or relevant areas
  • A minimum of 3 years of a B2B or B2C eCommerce or sales related experience
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and analytical skills
  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that requires excellent time management and the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
  • Understanding of airline selling processes including revenue management, retail and distribution is a plus
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders on commercial and resource priorities
  • Highly attentive to detail with a careful and thorough approach to data monitoring and problem-solving
  • Able to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity
  • Solid understanding of business dynamics with the ability to interpret data in a commercial context and support strategic decision-making
