The Aircraft Stores Operator assists the Stores Inspectors and Stores Team Leaders in the day-to-day operational activities within the aircraft stores, ensuring the correct receipt, identification, storage, handling, picking and issue of aircraft parts and materials.
Aircraft parts and materials handling
- Receive aircraft parts, materials, components, consumables and other goods delivered to the stores.
- Check deliveries against the relevant documentation and system information. Help the inspector to receive aircraft spares consignments, to verify their contents and to check the condition and compliance with the order of A/C spare received.
- Assist the inspector in receiving unserviceable A/C spares and giving correct location into U/S quarantine, to arrange necessary paperwork required for it.
- Issue tooling or commercial items to engineers when requested. Record tooling being returned accurately.
- Issue A/C spares when requested by engineers and ensure timely and adequate reporting of issued spares.
- Organise shipments of spares (serviceable or unserviceable) as requested following rules and manage adequate paperwork in accordance with customs regulations.
- Ensure stock of dangerous goods are handled following the appropriate regulations.
- Execute hand carry deliveries of spares and materials to outstations as and when requested.
- Always keep the work environment neat and tidy.
Traceability and documentation
- Record any movement, issuing, or Transfer of aircraft parts and materials accurately in the AMOS ERP System
- Handle and maintain records such as certificates, release documents and other applicable documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Identify and report discrepancies in documentation, identification, quantity or part status.
- Place parts/materials with incomplete or questionable documentation in appropriate location as directed.
Stock management
- Perform stock movements and transactions accurately in the company AMOS system.
- Participate in regular and ad-hoc inventory checks for accuracy and financial reporting.
- Ensure correct storage locations and stock organisation.
- Maintain appropriate segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, quarantine, scrap and other material categories.
Support to Maintenance Operations
- Respond efficiently to material requests from Maintenance.
- Prepare and deliver required materials to the appropriate maintenance area.
- Action urgent and AOG material requirements according to established priorities.
- Action the timely return of removed/unserviceable components and materials to the appropriate stores area.
- Process returned materials in accordance with instructions received from the applicable Supply Chain department.
Internal compliance
- Comply with all relevant divisional and local company related policies, procedures and legal requirements.
- Comply with the requirements of ASL MMOE and relevant Engineering procedures.
- Comply with any Dangerous Goods requirements involved in the dispatch/receipt process.
