Tasks

Technical supervisory role responsible for overseeing assigned aircraft mechanics, ensuring safe and efficient task execution, developing team competence, monitoring performance and reporting to the Area/Line Leader.

• Supervise, motivate and mentor assigned Mechanics, ensuring timely completion of work and supporting professional development.
• Provide technical guidance and perform/certify maintenance activities in line with procedures and regulations.
• Support Area/Line Leaders in meeting technical targets, KPIs, customer requirements and project objectives.
• Monitor work packages, documentation, parts, tooling, estimates and maintenance progress.
• Promote continuous improvement, effective teamwork and strong customer relationships.
• Ensure high standards of safety, quality, housekeeping, environmental compliance and tool control.
• Support project cost management and attend relevant meetings.
• Maintain flexibility regarding shifts, working hours, travel and additional duties as required.

• Possession of a Level 2 Senior Aircraft Mechanic Authorization
• Hold the required Continuation and Human Factors Training as well as training in regulations and organisational procedures
• Communicate effectively in English and Maltese both written and verbally
• Supervise people effectively and demonstrate the ability to collect and process information, solve problems, and take decisions
• Ability to undertake all the requirements of the said position
• Be open-minded, mature, and a team player
• Strong organisational ability to provide support and deal with a broad variety of issues and priorities issues
• Ability to organise own work on projects within a set framework
• Commitment to quality management and compliance

About Lufthansa Technik Malta Ltd

Lufthansa Technik Malta Ltd. (LTM) was established in 2003 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG (92%) and Air Malta (8%). The MRO service provider (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul), based at Malta International Airport in Luqa, provides its customers with line and base maintenance services for short haul and long haul aircraft in the Airbus A320/A330/350 series and Boeing B787. Initially specializing in C Checks and comprehensive aircraft modifications, the company has now significantly expanded its service portfolio following the construction of a 64,000 square meter hangar complex. The spectrum of services offered has grown to encompass extensive maintenance work with wide ranging capabilities including structural and composite fibre repairs, complex testing procedures and comprehensive cabin refits. The 600 strong workforce can work on up to three long haul aircraft or five medium and long haul aircraft at any one time in the new hangar complex, expanded to cater for wide body aircraft. The hangars are used primarily for C Checks and aircraft overhauls. Lufthansa Technik Malta also collaborates with the renowned Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) for the purpose of training and apprenticeship schemes. The strategically favorable location in the Mediterranean region of southern Europe, with its proximity to Africa and to the Arabian Peninsula, gives Lufthansa Technik Malta a special role within the Lufthansa Group. Twenty years after the company's founding and with more than 2,000 checks carried out, the high quality standards, cost efficiency and the shortest possible turnaround times places the Malta facility at the forefront of the MRO industry.
