What you'll do

Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain assigned general ledger accounts related to Spare Parts Inventory, PP&E, and Accounts Receivable.
  • Research and resolve accounting variances, reconciling items, and data discrepancies.
  • Analyze financial data and account activity to identify trends and support business decisions.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in accordance with accounting policies and controls.
  • Prepare documentation and respond to requests from external auditors, internal auditors, and SOX compliance teams.
  • Assist with budget, forecast, and financial planning processes by providing accounting analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with Finance, Corporate Accounting, and operational teams to address accounting matters and improve data accuracy.
  • Participate in special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements that support departmental objectives.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent training/experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of combined public accounting experience or experience in public or private company corporate accounting department

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, MBA, or related disciplines or equivalent experiences.
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Knowledge of SAP general ledger and Hyperion Financial Management reporting tool
  • Competency in Alteryx and working with large datasets

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Possess fundamental accounting, internal controls and SOX knowledge required.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Flexible/adaptable to constant change and scheduling needs to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on projects and prioritize and execute concurrent assignments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines without supervision
