Job Description A. Job Purpose Safety Officer will ensure the safety audits are carried out as per schedule, and to implement the Safety Management System in the FTO under the SM. The role will hold the key responsibility to support the Safety Manager to conduct safety, audits, develop and implement the Safety Management System, conduct all safety trainings, and also ensure Quality Assurance in training and maintenance. B. Key Accountabilities The role will be responsible for supporting the Safety Manager in: Promoting a culture of safety and high priority of safety considerations Safety oversight of operations on a day-to-day basis Performing reviews for hazard identification and risk analysis and to identify risk avoidance and/or mitigation strategies Monitoring of processes and procedures to determine their effectiveness in avoiding or managing risk Maintaining Flight Safety Documentation system Prepare periodic safety reports for review by the senior management Manage the Safety Management System (SMS) Ensure safety promotion throughout the organization. Conduct periodic safety meetings for cadets, flight instructors, and other employees. Prepare and maintain a comprehensive Emergency Response Plan. Coordinate with other departments on all safety related matters. Responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the safety program Any other additional responsibility could be from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. C. Skills Required for the role Leadership Attention to detail Strategic Planning Motivational Communication Skills Safety Commitment Interpersonal skills Adaptability Education requirements Graduate Degree in Aeronautical Engineering / Licensed AME Aviation Auditor Experience Two years of aviation experience in operations / safety / engineering department Experience in auditing, safety management, flight data analysis, risk assessment & accident investigations Prior experience of an FTO
