We are looking for entry level Avionic Systems Engineers to join our team in Yeovil to work alongside experienced engineers who can guide and mentor you as you develop your career in systems engineering. At Leonardo, within our helicopter division, we are responsible for the design of the complete air vehicle. You will have the opportunity to participate in all phases of the product design life cycle from participating in leading edge innovation to supporting aging aircraft. Your impact As an Avionic Systems Engineer you get to work across a range of helicopter platforms including conventional helicopters and uncrewed air systems. You'll be responsible for the design, verification & support of avionics systems, from initial design through to supporting flight test programmes. What you’ll do as an Avionic Systems Engineer As part of the Systems Engineering Team you will define, instigate and execute the activities required to design, develop and qualify avionic systems in response to specific customer requirements. You will work closely with customers to derive system level requirements You will manage external suppliers to deliver equipment that meet these requirements You will work with systems integration and test to prove and qualify the avionic system What you’ll bring Engineering Degree in a relevant subject (Electrical / Electronics / Aeronautical) Interest and enthusiasm to work in a technical team as part of a world leading aerospace company A passion for developing solutions for current and future helicopters and unscrewed air systems A desire to continue to learn and develop your technical skills Security Clearance This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
