A Technical Instructor in WestJet Technical Operations is a key member of the training system that enables AMEs and other personnel with technical responsibilities to acquire and maintain the technical and procedural knowledge and skills to perform their duties.
Responsibilities for this role include:
Develops and updates course curriculum, course materials, and exams.
Conducts technical training courses as per the approved curriculum.
Completes attendance and training records for all courses, including instructor and course evaluation forms.
Ensures new training bulletins, airworthiness directives, and other technical data are reviewed, and added to the course curriculum, as required.
Communicates with the Manager, Approved Training Organization about all technical training matters.
Completes all duties with the highest level of safety and reports any condition or process which may adversely affect safety.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Completion of an instructional techniques course is strongly preferred, exceptions might be made for highly qualified individuals
Demonstrates adequate knowledge and experience of industry practices and understands the responsibilities associated with the position.
Minimum of fifteen years' experience performing or directly supervising maintenance activities of the type undertaken by the organization, where at least six months of which has been obtained within the preceding two years.
Previous training experience particularly in a classroom setting considered an asset
Strong skillset in Microsoft Office experience in particular PowerPoint & Adobe Acrobat
Technical writing skills considered an asset
Holds a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (E).
