We are seeking a senior Technical Leader with deep expertise in real-time embedded application development to mentor, guide, and build high-performing engineering teams for safety-critical applications. The role combines hands-on technical leadership, certification ownership, and team capability building aligned with DO-178C.
Technical Leadership, Mentoring & Team Building
- Act as a mentor for DO-178C and real-time embedded development across projects.
- Coach engineers on:
- DO-178C compliance mindset
- Real-time embedded design principles
- High-quality coding, verification, and documentation practices
- Lead technical reviews, design walkthroughs, and certification readiness sessions.
DO-178C & Certification Responsibilities
- Own and drive DO-178C compliance across the full software life cycle.
- Guide teams on DAL objectives and compliance strategies.
- Act as key technical interface during certification audits and authority interactions.
- Identify certification risks early and drive mitigation plans.
Real-Time Embedded Software Development
- Provide architectural and hands-on guidance for:
- Embedded Linux applications with real-time constraints
- Review and approve software architecture, design, and implementation for safety and real-time correctness.
- Collaborate with system and hardware teams for end-to-end integration.
Verification, Quality & Process
- Lead verification and validation (V&V) strategy and execution.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Requirements-based testing
- Structural coverage (Statement, Decision, MC/DC)
- Verification independence
- Guide teams on tool qualification (DO-330) and verification automation.
Leadership & Mentoring
- Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, and leading embedded software teams.
- Demonstrated ability to build teams from scratch or scale existing teams.
- Experience defining technical standards, review mechanisms, and skill-development plans.
DO-178C & Certification
- Strong hands-on experience with DO-178C, preferably DAL A or DAL B.
- Deep expertise in:
- Requirements-based development
- Traceability and lifecycle compliance
- Certification audits and authority interactions
- Experience with DO-178C supplements:
- DO-330
Embedded & Real-Time Development
- Strong experience in real-time embedded application development.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Bare-metal programming
- Embedded Linux or any RTOS
Programming & Tools
- Proficiency in C and C++
- Experience with:
- Cross-compilers, GDB
- Requirements tools (e.g. DOORS, Polarion)
- Verification tools (e.g. RTRT)
- Configuration management (Git)
Experience & Education
- 15+ years of experience in avionics or safety-critical embedded software.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline.
