MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
To manage 24/7 Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) materials support for flydubai’s operating fleet by handling urgent aircraft material requirements, expediting recovery actions, and acting as the central point of contact during AOG events to minimise aircraft downtime and operational disruption.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages and prioritises AOG notifications based on operational and commercial impact to minimize operational disruption.
  • Manages end-to-end AOG events to ensure timely material support and minimise aircraft downtime.
  • Identifies required parts, tools, equipment, and documentation, and arranges urgent sourcing through available stock, procurement, loan, exchange, pool, transfer, or repair solutions.
  • Acts as the materials' focal point between Maintrol, Engineering, Flight Operations, Stores, Procurement, OEMs, MROs, pool providers, and external vendors during AOG events.
  • Ensures timely dispatch of correct parts, tools, equipment, and supporting documentation through the fastest available method, including Next Flight Out (NFO), charter, courier, hand-carry, or other expedited solutions.
  • Liaises with suppliers and service providers to expedite material, repair, logistics, and technical support for AOG requirements.
  • Monitors, records, and tracks all AOG cases, ensuring accurate event logs, handovers, status updates, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Tracks repair progress for AOG parts during off-hours and provides timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manages pool orders, loan requests, transfers, exchanges, and off-hours procurement activities to support aircraft recovery.
  • Coordinates tooling and GSE requirements related to AOG events and resolves material hold items in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Supports troubleshooting activities by coordinating with Engineering and reviewing technical documentation related to part requirements and recovery options.
  • Escalates critical issues in a timely manner and recommend operational recovery actions such as alternate sourcing, aircraft swap, delay mitigation, or cancellation support.
  • Ensures all AOG material activities are carried out in compliance with airworthiness, safety, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supports AOG sales opportunities and collaboration initiatives with other airlines, MROs, and service providers where required.
  • Participates in post-AOG reviews to identify root causes, lessons learned, and preventive or improvement actions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft materials, AOG support, or airline maintenance/materials operations, with proven experience in handling time-critical AOG requirements in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Systems Knowledge (if applicable) Knowledge of aviation ERP or maintenance systems such as AMOS, TRAX, or equivalent, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and shipment tracking tools.
  • Years with qualifications: 5 - 7 years
  • Certification in aviation materials, supply chain, or logistics is preferred.

ISR REQUIREMENTS
Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
