The Senior Airworthiness Inspector is responsible for ensuring aircraft, components, and maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, company quality standards, and approved maintenance procedures. This position performs and oversees inspections, determines airworthiness, approves aircraft and articles for return to service, and provides technical leadership within the Quality organization.
Thorough knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, inspection methods, techniques, practices, tools, and equipment used to determine airworthiness.Proficiency in the use of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids.Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of repair station quality systems, processes, records, and inspection requirements.
Working knowledge of FAR Parts 43, 91, 145, and associated repair station requirements.Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Experience in a corporate aviation, repair station, or OEM quality environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 8 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) to include 2 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience and 2 years of aircraft inspection experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required. Position Purpose:Performs inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards of quality, and that aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required. documentation properly completed and filed. Works as an integral part of the Quality Control/Assurance team assuring aircraft/components are in compliance to FAA/CAA requirements.Job Description
