Regional HR Manager HQ
Based in Budapest
Purpose of the role
The Regional HR Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient HR operations and services for the headquarters functions in Budapest and Malta, while ensuring the effective management of headquarters-related HR matters.
The role provides HR business partnering support to headquarters employees, implements Group HR policies and programs, and oversees outsourced HR service providers.
The Regional HR Manager ensures that HR processes comply with applicable labour, tax and social security legislation in each country and drives their ongoing improvement.
The Regional HR Manager reports to the Head of HR.
Responsibilities
General responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day headquarters HR operations in Budapest and Malta
- Act as a trusted Business partner for the HQ employees, including for senior leadership
- Provide leadership and oversee of employee lifecycle processes and documentation for office-based employees, including onboarding, induction, immigration, contracting, exits, redundancies and terminations.
- Oversee the delivery and governance of the end-to-end payroll process for office employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Ensure effective management of employee data and documentation, including HRIS records, personnel files, work permits, visas, and other immigration-related documentation.
- Oversee HR communications related to employee movements, including joiners, leavers, promotions, and organizational changes across the Budapest and Malta offices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and support audits, investigations, and employment-related litigation across headquarters locations.
- Provide guidance on employee related matters, recruitment / immigration, disciplinary terminations, payroll, labour administration, personal taxation and social security matters.
- Implement and harmonise HR service standards, processes and policies, and actively lead or participate in HR project
- Manage relationships with HR service providers and oversee the performance and delivery of outsourced HR services.
- Oversee the tracking, achievement, and reporting of HR metrics and service provider KPIs, including payroll, immigration, annual leave, and sickness absence indicators.
- Ensure the preparation and review of regular and ad hoc HR and executive reports, identifying trends, risks, and critical workforce issues, and providing recommendations to management.
- Lead, coach, and develop the HR Manager responsible for headquarters HR operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Experience
4-6+ years’ experience, 3+ years’ of progressive HR experience, including HR business partnering and the delivery of high-quality HR services in a fast-paced, international environment
Hard skills
- Proven experience in leading or contributing to cross-functional HR projects, organizational change and process implementation
- Strong analytical judgement, structured problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and discretion
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems, combined with a strong interest in digitalization, automation and data-driven HR practices
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors (SAP SF) is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of employment law, payroll, personal taxation and social security matters; experience liaising with legal, tax or labour authorities is an advantage
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Employment Relations or a related field
Language
Fluent written and spoken English; proficiency in Hungarian and/or another European language is an advantage
Skills and competencies
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to advise senior leaders and build trusted relationships across headquarters functions
- A proactive, hands-on approach and a strong continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to translate business needs into practical HR solutions
