The GSE Mechanic will provide aircraft maintenance support by delivering dedicated access equipment and temporary work platforms, ensuring that maintenance, repair, and modification activities are carried out with safe, appropriate, and adequate access equipment across EK Engineering. All equipment will be maintained, serviced, inspected, and repaired as directed by the docking supervisor to ensure safe and reliable operation.

In this role you will

  • Provide platforms, stands and access equipment as required by Emirates Engineering Base and Line Maintenance departments in support of the various aircraft maintenance and repair activities. Carry out basic support servicing and/or component replacements of Emirates and third-party aircraft as instructed and supervised by the Licensed Engineers.
  • Carry out daily inspections of the equipment for operational reliability & safety to ensure that no risk of personal injury, aircraft damage or equipment damage exits.
  • Carry out deployment, adjustments and removal of access equipment and installations to the required procedures and standards in accordance with the manufacturers recommended guidelines and recognised engineering practices.
  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair and upgrade work on the access equipment and installations in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority, DM requirements, manufacturers requirements and engineering practices to ensure all such equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable condition.
  • Ensure that the work site is always kept clean and tidy and all tooling is in a serviceable condition.
  • Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded accurately and legibly in the logbook/work order for input into the relevant database.
  • Guide and train the Junior staff as required on the maintenance aspects of all access equipment.
  • Use the in-house maintenance and operation tracking software to create job cards and update the system upon job card completion.
  • Inform the senior staff / supervisors of any spare parts and tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of any maintenance works.
Qualification

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • 10 years of schooling or equivalent engineering trade certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years’ engineering experience, preferably in aviation.
  • UAE driving license would be an asset.
