Our client is an Australian airline providing regional RPT, ACMI and charter services, connecting communities across the country. They operate a fleet of 11 aircraft, including Dash 8 turboprops and Airbus A319s, and are part of the world’s largest ACMI group, with operations across 6 continents and a global workforce of more than 11,000 aviation professionals.

About the Role
Our client is seeking a full-time B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to join their team based in Cairns, Queensland, Australia.

Rotations are 5 days on / 4 days off and 4 days on / 4 days off. Shifts are 10.5 hours, with morning shifts starting at 5:30 am and late shifts at 2:00 pm, providing a good work-life balance.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Work with the Engineering Manager and wider engineering team to ensure all aircraft maintenance and certification meet regulatory, manufacturer and Part 145 MOE requirements.
  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including line maintenance, to keep the aircraft safe, serviceable and ready for operation.
  • Ensure required parts, tooling and test equipment are available for upcoming maintenance and carry out corrective rectification of aircraft defects and systems, including when working away from base.
  • Support the company’s safety and quality systems and travel to other bases when required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Valid CASA B1 License
  • Dash 8 100/200/300 experience is desirable. A funded Dash 8 type-rating course is available, subject to a training bond agreement.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures
  • Full manual driver’s license
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and independently when required
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to successfully obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
